Rain and Gales Set to Sweep Through Several Provinces

Sri Lanka, May 24 -- Intermittent showers can be expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Northwestern, and Central provinces as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.

Scattered showers or thunderstorms are expected this evening or overnight in various areas of the Uva province as well as in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts. Isolated rainfalls might also take place in other regions.

Significant rainfall exceeding 75 millimeters is expected in certain areas within the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Northwestern provinces as well as in the Galle, Matara, Nuwara Eliya, and Kandy districts.

Moderate to strong gusts with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometers per hour may occur occasionally across the western faces of the central mountains and within the Northern, North-central, North-western regions as well as the Southern provinces and Trincomalee district.

Starting May 30, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe will host "Portraits of Zimbabwe," an exhibit featuring more than 80 photographic prints by the late photographer Chicago Dzviti. The portraits of Zimbabwe have been brought about through the support of the U.S. Embassy. Tourism Minister Calls for Global Artistic Talent: Design a Bulgaria-Inspired Poster

Sofia, May 13, BTA/GNA – On Monday, Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh extended an invitation to artists worldwide to design a poster capturing their perception of Bulgaria, whether seen firsthand or still undiscovered.
