Fighting Strong Against Naxalism: Chhattisgarh CM Sai Claims Since Seizing Power

Jashpur ( Chhattisgarh [India], May 22 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted that ever since the BJP assumed power, the security forces have been combating "vigorously" Naxalism .

He went on to claim that the government has asked for the Naxals To abandon violence and reintegrate into normal society. Justice will be served, and the government will handle their rehabilitation.

He further added that Naxals have started to capitulate en masse, and the recent operation was the largest such event to date.

Since taking control, our soldiers have been engaged in combat. Naxalism quite emphatically. Operations are ongoing without interruption, and we have been experiencing success. Additionally, we have encouraged them ( Naxals ) to cast aside violence, bullets and bombs, and join mainstream. They would be given justice and Government will rehabilitate them. The result is before us, Naxals are surrendering in significant numbers... The operation, which lasted for three days, appears to be the largest one yet. Their leader, known as the General Secretary—Basava Raju—was eliminated by our soldiers. This loss has dealt a substantial blow to Naxalism , it has broken their back. This is a major success. We thank our DRG jawans and salute their valour", he said.

Vishnu Deo Sai On Wednesday restated the Central government's dedication to concluding Naxalism By March 31, 2026, as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said, "Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have pledged to bring an end to naxalism by 31 March 2026... An operation is currently underway in the Narayanpur-Abujmarh area. 27 naxals have been killed. Many of those killed have a bounty on them. One big name, a General Secretary, Basava Raju Rao, has also been killed by our jawans." (ANI)
