This signifies an advancement in bolstering the diplomatic and economic relationships between Nigeria and Algeria.

As per a declaration issued by Kimiebi Ebienfa, who serves as the acting spokesperson for the ministry, this fresh flight path has been established under the Bilateral Air Services Agreement between both nations. It will be managed by Air Algérie, Algeria’s state airline, employing a Boeing 737 airplane.

It is anticipated that this new service will enhance connectivity, promote tourism, and ease trade and investment exchanges between Nigeria and Algeria.

This demonstrates both nations' joint dedication to enhancing collaboration in aviation, trade, and cultural interactions.

The declaration included, "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs happily announces the initiation of Air Algerie’s first-ever non-stop route from Algiers to Abuja, set to begin operations on April 6, 2025."

It is important to mention that the successful endeavor was brought about by the implementation of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement between the two nations.

The ministry likewise commended the Nigerian Embassy in Algiers for playing a crucial part in facilitating the flight.

The inaugural flight is expected to carry the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Algiers, Nigerian community leaders, and representatives from the Algerian government.

The federal government has congratulated Air Algérie and expressed its complete backing to help guarantee the success of the new service.

Thanks to reasonable ticket prices and Algeria’s closeness to Europe, this flight provides Nigerians an easy access point to Europe, thereby strengthening Nigeria’s role as a key hub for commerce, travel, and transfer in the region.

The statement continued, "The Federal Government of Nigeria, via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and pertinent aviation bodies, warmly congratulates Air Algerie and pledges all required assistance to guarantee the success and longevity of this new service."

We think this initiative will bolster the long-standing friendship between Nigeria and Algeria, paving the way for fresh avenues of shared development.

The cost-effective pricing model along with Algeria's close proximity to Europe could offer Nigerians an easy access point to the continent, thus boosting Nigeria’s role as a key hub for commerce, travel, and transportation in the region.

The ministry promoted the idea among citizens and enterprises to leverage this enhanced connection for discovering chances in commerce, travel, and cultural interactions between the two countries.
